MIDSOUTH ANIMAL WELFARE FOUNDATION
Midsouth Animal Welfare Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue in rural Mississippi with dedicated volunteers whose mission is to save dogs that are abandoned; dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances or those in danger of abuse or animal neglect.
Our rescue is 100% volunteer driven, and all funds are used for vaccines, spay/neuter services or medical care. Dogs are microchipped and spayed and neutered prior to going to the coordinated rescue partners or adopters.
We assist dogs in distress and actively seek to reduce the rate of euthanasia, support proactive spay/neuter practices and rehabilitate these dogs, in preparation for their permanent adoptive homes.

Hope for a Better Life
Midsouth Animal Welfare Foundation transports dogs to rescue regions of the U.S. where they have a much greater chance of finding homes. These rescue partners offer more resources and a high demand for adoption. Relocation is an effective and critical tool to prevent needless euthanasia of adoptable pets. Our successful and effective relocation partnerships have improved animal welfare, saving more animals’ lives. In 2025 we saved 534 dogs and cats. In 2024 we saved 677 dogs and cats.

Rescuing Animals in Crisis.
Midsouth Animal Welfare Foundation works with local law enforcement to rescue dogs with some of the worst cases of abuse (animal cruelty, abandoned dogs, puppy mills and bad breeders). We're proud to assist animal control from various Mississippi local counties on canine cruelty cases when needed.
Through a grant from the Mississippi Board of Animal Health “I Care for Animals” Car Tag Program, Midsouth was able to help individuals experiencing financial hardship in our local community spay/neuter 33 dogs and cats (15 dogs and 18 cats) in 2025.
